I never thought I'd be the kind of woman to be weddinged. In a church. With someone I might actually want to stay with for more than a few years. But it's weird how life creeps up on you. A year ago, anyone who would've told me that I'd be engaged now, I would've punched them in the face.

I agree about the parties, though. I am planning my wedding like a big party, like a big performance. Not like a once-in-a-lifetime ceremony. Children are brilliant because usually are still at the stage where they haven't had it beaten through their head that magic shouldn't exist. The lucky few of us realize that it always has and always will.
